Hello and Happy birthday to those of you who were born today as well! I say that because today is my birthday too! And a friday like this won’t happen for another 11 years. Moving on; This week the devs posted a lot of new stuff, and its not all about starbound. Mojang is working on the next snapshot content in the background and also joining in a world wide internet protest; More updates from Starbound! And TF2 finally has news to report! Solid news in months instead of just updates!
Mojang is working on populating the oceans with new structures and mobs meaning we won’t see the ongoing gravel sea floor anymore yay! Currently Jeb is still working on whats being added as there will be a lot more to add including a new mob which will be nasty; hopefully more nasty than wither skeletons or blazes.
A year ago today it was revealed that the NSA (National Security Agency) and GCHQ (Government Communications Headquarters) were intercepting data from phone and internet networks, and poking around in information stored by US technology companies. Mojang is joining in a huge protest across the internet to help protect it’s freedom from people who want to control and corrupt it. Reset the Net is a protest move doing just that to make the internet a more safer place for everyone. You can par take in the movement by clicking in the link below.
Half of Starbound’s updates today are not about combat, monsters, and shields which is good for a change. OmnipotentEntity has worked his magic on the assests coding for the game. Doing so made the game load faster which is good for toaster computers everywhere. GeorgeV is working on new shops to populate planets. These will resemble kwiki marts and will add more variety to whats already being sold by farmers and tailors. Finally Admin Commands are being re-added to the game, currently they are disable and to enable them an admin will need to input /ruinthefun.
The first ever Highlander tournament is now open for sign ups! The Highlander is a tournament for non competitive players who are relatively new to the game and play casually. This will be perfect to get the below average tf2 gamer into the competitive sport. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes come with medals and with (1st)kill streak kits, (2nd)Strange Weapons, and (3rd)Cosmetic items for all classes.
North American TF2 teams need your help to send them to this years I52 Lan Tournament. Two years ago, the worldwide competitive Team Fortress 2 community came together and raised enough money to send two North American teams to Multiplay’s i46 in Telford, UK, in an unprecedented fight to see who would reign supreme as champions of the world. At that event the North Americans swept the competition, taking both first and second place at the tournament. Last year, at i49, we sent yet another team to compete against the best teams that both Europe and Australia had to offer, but this time Europe took the crown.
